A raised path that crosses straight over the ponds of De Wijers, near the famous sunken cycling route. Where the trench puts you at water level, this crossing lifts you up for a wide, open panorama of the ponds and surrounding forest — especially striking in autumn. It is all free and open: you only need a ticket for the Bokrijk open-air museum, not for these forest and pond paths, and the raised bridge, the walking path, and the sunken cycling route all sit within a minute or two of each other.

Local tip

While the tourists flock to the sunken path, this raised crossing gives you a much better panoramic view of the ponds. The autumn colors reflecting off the water from this vantage point are unbeatable.
